Keina Rollinson

Keina Rollinson began her education in cello in 2017 with CSO Principal Emeritus Cello Galyna Zelinska. She now studies with James Tennant.
Keina has gone on to win many awards in cello performance, including the Trinity Exhibition Award for Grade 5 Cello in 2019, Christchurch School of Music (CSM) Scholarship in 2019, CSM Under 18 Solo Winner in 2020, and Rangi Ruru Girls School Music Scholarship in 2020.
Keina has performed in various orchestras, chamber groups, and competitions including New Zealand Secondary School’s Symphony Orchestra, Christchurch Youth Orchestra, CSM Sinfonia, NZCT Chamber Music New Zealand Competition, and her school string ensemble and orchestra.
In 2020, she received Distinction in her Grade 8 Trinity Exam, and in 2023, received an A.T.C.L Distinction.
In 2024, Keina was selected as a CSO Irelands Intern, proudly supported by Irelands Interns. She performed with CSO in May at Lamb & Hayward Masterworks: Ives, Beethoven, and will perform again with CSO at Lamb & Hayward Masterworks: Ligeti, Harris, Artie Shaw, Dvořák on Saturday 19 October, Christchurch Town Hall, as well as receive coaching from CSO musicians throughout the year.
